At
the Noel Learning Center, we are committed to
providing an environment that is safe, healthy,
respectful, nurturing and educational for you and
your child. We believe that communication between
staff and families is key to your childs
success and comfort while on site. The following are
highlights of what you can expect from your
experience at the Noel Learning Center.
Education
At
the Noel Learning Center, we believe that children learn best through
exploring their environment and engaging in hands-on experiences. Our
environment will provide a multitude of experiences that will stimulate
enthusiasm for learning.
Our curriculum supports growth in the cognitive,
social, emotional, and physical areas of development, and is developmentally
appropriate based on the position statement from the National Association
for the Education of Young Children. We will assess the progress of
each child regularly and individualize our program based on those assessments.
Results of each child's progress will be shared with parents during
conferences twice each year and as needed between conference meetings.
Health and Safety
At
the Noel Learning Center, we believe that every childs health
and safety are an important piece to their overall experience. Children
learn best when they are in an environment where they trust their provider
and feel safe. Our staff is trained to provide this type of environment.
Our meals are served in a relaxed, fun and
family style atmosphere. Children will be encouraged to build their
self-help skills by setting tables, serving themselves, wiping up spills
and clearing their own place settings.
We will continually be evaluating our program
and equipment to insure cleanliness and safety.
Child Guidance
At
the Noel Learning Center, we believe children should be treated with
respect and dignity. We are committed to using child guidance techniques
that are positive and emotionally supportive of each child. We view
these techniques as learning opportunities for the children in our care.
We have developed a Child Guidance Policy that outlines the techniques
that staff will be using to guide your childs behavior during
the course of their day.
Parent Involvement
At
the Noel Learning Center, we believe in strong parent/staff partnerships.
Our goal is to understand the needs of your child and your family. We
encourage daily communication upon drop off and pick up between staff
and parents. We also encourage parents to drop in at any time during
the course of the day. We want you to be a part of your childs
experience as often as possible.
Our parent involvement program allows families
to be actively involved in their child's educational process while receiving
a discount on weekly tuition. We have a variety of activities that parents
choose from to meet their involvement time.
Diversity
At
the Noel Learning Center, we are committed to providing an environment,
which is highly diverse. We encourage enrollment from all socioeconomic
and ethnic backgrounds. We provide opportunities that reflect diversity
in our environment, our lesson planning, menu planning, and other experiences
throughout each day. We truly celebrate the differences that make each
of us unique!
Unique Opportunities
At
the Noel Learning Center, we have many unique opportunities to offer
you and your child. We will be using the "7 Habits of Highly Effective
People and Families" in our Learning Center environment. All staff
will be trained to use the "7 Habits" in their classroom.
Many enrichment activities will also be
available including foreign language experiences, dance, computers,
gross motor activities, field trips, cooking experiences,
resource visitors and a variety of other opportunities. Our goal is
to assist each child in developing to his or her full potential.
Commitment to Excellence
At
the Noel Learning Center, we are committed to staying informed about
the latest research and development in the field of Early Childhood
Education. We will be continually evaluating our program and practices
to support research as well as to meet the ever-changing needs of the
children and families that we serve.
